Definitely a different twist from the usual Hawaii beaches I know, Promenade des Anglais is chilly, pebbled, but beautiful in it's own characteristic way. This picture was taken atop the Baie des Anges or in English, Bay of Angels. I have been visiting Promenade des Anglais for a couple of days now and have yet to step in the water. Though, I am afraid of freezing my toes off. The scenery provides a serene vibe as buildings, the ocean, the trees and the sky merge into an intricate cultural masterpiece. Although the sunsets in Hawaii have captivated my heart, the sunsets in Nice has captured it. It is fitting that this area of the Promenade des Anglais is called the Bay of Angels because its as if angels fly happily around the clouds of this city, exerting beauty in its surroundings. While sitting atop the tower, I decided to paint a scenery with watercolor.

My journal entry for May 26, 2015:

Where am I now?

I'm on top of the Belle de l'Air and I love the sites here. I just painted a corner of the tower with aquarelle (watercolor). The air is a bit chilly and the marble/rock railing surrounding the towe is magnificent. Although there isn't much choice in painting sceneries in watercolor here, I am enjoying it. Today, we're not even a week into the trip but I already feel like I've been here forever. It's beginning to feel like home. I can really see Nice as a prospective home, it is calling me. The mixture of ancient and modern architecture blends so perfectly that it is not sore to the eyes. It's almost sad to think that I will be leaving iNice in merely two weeks. I don't think I will be ready. Furthermore, I am realizing that Paris may not be the city for me. It's true that artists like Van Gogh and Picasso gravitated towards Paris during the Belle Epoque days, the nature and structures here in Nice are much too perfect.

To live here would be a dream I never want to wake up from. I can't even begin to imagine what it is like to wake up every morning without stressing over the upcoming farewell to Nice. Nevertheless, I am enjoying my time here, savoring each moments so as not to regret not being able to do anything before our June 11 departure for Paris.

Even though I love Nice to the point of not wanting to leave, I miss my family back in Hawaii. There was never a day without them on my mind. Every time I visit a new places I wish they are with me to experience the same things and also be captivated with such beauty.
