Summer Lovin' Happened So Fast

Or not at all. To be honest, I enjoyed such a busy summer which I spent working and volunteering. After all, last year I spent the summer traipsing through France and Italy (and working and volunteering). This summer is actually a fresh summer for me, it was a summer I took control over and did activities I actually love. As I previously stated, I got a new job which I sincerely love, I also participated in L.E.G.A.C.Y. Camp for the third year and managed to meet some great people along the way. So, as for having "summer" activities just a week ago, I am pretty happy where I am standing and surprisingly, very excited for the upcoming school year. I feel I have done a lot of growing this year and I just want to find out how the new Jessica handles everything else.

New Responsibilities

I recently got a job at Waipahu High School as a PCNC and I must admit, I have never been more busy than recently. The best thing is, all my efforts are going to a school that I really believe has a power to tap into each student's potential. I have so much responsibilities now that it is actually very scary. I am a perfectionist and this is a learning experience for me, I have to keep moving forward and "aim for progress, not perfection."

From Aquarelle To Acrylic

My go-to medium is watercolor (aquarelle), but lately I have ventured towards a medium that matched my more impatient side: acrylic. Working with acrylic paint is definitely different. Acrylic paint is easier to handle, the colors are more controllable, but it does dry fast so work has to be quick. Any mistakes can be easily covered, unlike watercolor so it gives me more to work with. I have not worked with acrylic for years and finally exploring what I can do with it excites me.

This was a treasure chest Zach Yamamoto and I collaborated in to give as a gift, done on May 2016.
